New Year’s Resolution

New Year’s is just around the corner and you’re ready for a fresh start. Or perhaps it’s just another year of unrealistic resolutions and goals for you. Another year of feeling like a failure for not achieving those resolutions. You are not alone. So many times we set ourselves up for failure by making BIG goals and abandoning them when we see the first sign of trouble. We forget about the small progress we were making because we messed up one day and decided to wallow in self pity because of it and do nothing the next day to correct that error.

So maybe this year instead of making BIG goals you start with small goals. Example: Say your big goal for the year is to become a runner. Start small. Commit to walking 1-2 times a week. Once you achieve that goal, change it up. Commit to alternating between running and walking 1-2 times a week. The goal here is to develop the habit from walking to running. (You can find an App to help you go from walker to runner, such as Runkeeper.)

You gotta paste yourself to get there. Most of the time people try to do too much that it overwhelms them and they quit before they can see results. Resolutions don’t have to be about setting unrealistic goals. They can be something that perhaps you have already been working on. Don’t start the year beating yourself up. Stick to small goals. Little results add up to BIG results.

Here’s an outline for 2020.
